A fragrance does not offer to our sense of smell one and only single note. A fragrance contains odoriferous ingredients which have differents volatilities. A good fragrance develops over the time. For smelling a fragrance, we use a long piece of blotting paper known as mouillette, witch help distinguish the various notes of a fragrance in time. The top note is the initial impact of the fragrance wich last 5-10 minutes. Then come the bouquet, the heart or middle note that we can feel around 30 minutes and finaly, the base note, last a few hours.

A fragrance is a mixture of many ingredients, some of natural origin, essential oils and others of synthetic origin. The raw materials, necessary to the manufacture of the perfumes, come from everywhere in the world.

The formulations are created by perfumers and chemists. Each formulation contains an average of sixty ingredients whose concentration can be as small as 0.0001 %. The perfumer must consider two criterias: the odor required by the customer and the use of the fragrance.
